Two senior-level federal agency administrators and other industry stakeholders observed the first commercial application of electronic inspections of trucks and buses in motion at a weigh station and inspection site north of Washington, D.C. The next-generation technology offers the potential to make vehicle inspections more efficient, allowing inspection officers to offer incentives to safe carriers and concentrate their attention on problem ones.
