Red Dot Names Stephen Machin VP/Manufacturing

Stephen Machin (click to download)SEATTLE, Wash.—Red Dot Corp., a leader in climate control solutions for heavy-duty vehicles and equipment, has appointed Stephen Machin vice president responsible for global manufacturing.

Machin will lead teams in charge of production at Red Dot’s facilities in Seattle, Wash., Memphis, Tenn., and Ipswich, Suffolk, UK. He also will continue his role as managing director of Red Dot Europe, dividing his time among the company’s three manufacturing locations.

“Stephen was hired in 2001 to build Red Dot’s manufacturing operation in Europe. His success there is a testament to his ability to find efficiencies, work collaboratively with engineers and managers in our Seattle office, and deliver world-class products,” said Randy Gardiner, Red Dot’s president and chief executive officer. “Now Stephen’s focus has been expanded to include Seattle, Memphis, and other international manufacturing endeavors. We expect that he’ll do a superb job.”

Prior to joining Red Dot, Machin had more than 11 years of managerial experience in HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning) equipment manufacturing. He has achieved both an apprenticeship in fabrication and masters degrees in engineering and business, and was named to Red Dot’s board of directors in 2006.
