Don’t Hire. Recruit

There’s a difference. You hire to fill a job vacancy. In recruiting, you’re actively seeking out people who can help you whether you have a hole to fill or not.

How do you recruit? Ask your customers who they like to deal with. You’ll be surprised how often the same names come up. Contact them directly. If they work for a competitor, you’re not giving anything away—you’re always looking for good talent. At worst, you’ll get some great intel on the competition.

Check out Scott’s advice about how to log your business miles so you can validate your expense claims.
